OK I have several blogs, but this one will have a very specific and limited purpose. I recently received the program "Your Baby Can Read". When I told friends I had they said they had been considering it too and after 7 requests in that last 3 hours for me to find a way to keep my thoughts and Natalie's progress public, so that they could see how they might would like it, I decided to start this blog. Though I can't make any promises, I am not the best at keeping up with my other blogs, which I hope to change.
I guess I will start with the basics, Natalie is my youngest child. My other child is Blake, he is in Kindergarten and advanced for his age, so I will only be using this on miss Natalie. She is 17 months old and pretty average. The way this came about was because my son did, said, and learned everything early (except potty training, that one was tough, lol) He was reading by memorization before he was 3 and truly reading before his 4th birthday, though it was small and simple, it was reading. He was saying over 50 words at 13 months old (average is 1-5 words at 12 months old, He knew every state in the U.S.A. by age 3. Today he is advanced in most areas. He is a great kid, and I could go on and on but I wont, that is not what this is about, but it brings me to a point. Natalie has been tough to teach. There is nothing wrong with her. She was a preemie, she has always done things a little later than other kids her age and she doesn't seem to have that passion for learning that her brother did. But she is wonderful and has lots of other wonderful attributes. I love them both so much for their similarities and their differences. But I had to think outside of the box when trying to teach Natalie things, I needed a different approach. Natalie absolutely loves music and dancing. But sitting there looking at books or going over repetitive words, pictures, ect., not so much. My mother purchased Your Baby Can Read for her, in hopes to help her and I and though I was skeptical at first, I am giving it a go. Here I will record our journey. We will see if this system is all it is cracked up to be, or just a scam. ;-)
